Description

The Trust for the Americas, in partnership with BBVA Microfinance Foundation, USAID and Bancamía, contributes to the Empropaz Project through virtual training and mentorship to entrepreneurs in Colombia, to strengthen their entrepreneurships. Digital Impulse promotes the development of digital skills and digital marketing skills, as well as the necessary mentorship that supports the appropriation process. Digital Impulse particularly supports women heads of household, venezuelan migrants and youth distributed in the Departments of Atlántico, Caquetá, Cesar, Cundinamarca, Guaviare, Meta, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Urabá and Valle del Cauca.

Project purpose

Provide training and close mentorship in digital skills and digital marketing to approximately 120 entrepreneurs part of the Empropaz project with the objective of developing and strengthening their entrepreneurships through their digitalization and online sale of products and services.

Project goals

Give visibility to the work and achievements of the Empropaz Project, particularly those related to Digital Impulse, as well as the actors involved, through a comprehensive communication strategy.

Measure the impact of Digital Impulse based on the scope of the proposed objectives and, especially, the finalization of the courses of, at least, 80% of registered entrepreneurs.

Support the process of appropriation of digital skills and digital marketing of entrepreneurs through a process of individual and group mentorship around the product use of the tools and platforms studied for productive purposes.

Provide specific training on digital skills and digital marketing to entrepreneurs by introducing them to a variety of online and offline tools andf platforms.

Support the income generation of 120 entrepreneurs through the strengthening of digital skills and the implementation of digital marketing strategies.

Identify average levels of knowledge of digital skills and digital marketing, as well as the main needs and expectations of entrepreneurs.

Emprendedores colombianos vulnerables fortalecen sus habilidades digitales

Caguán, Colombia,

María Elizabeth (38) lives in the municipality of San Vicente del Caguán, Colombia, one of the most affected places by the armed conflict. Although she faces challenges such as limited access to internet and little knowledge of the use of technology, these have not been an impediment for her to be part of Digital Impulse, en initiative part of Empropaz Project. "Although I have to buy a pin to charge the cell phone and often look for a place where I get signal, I went ahead with the task of doing my classes."

Digital Impulse seeks to support entrepreneurs part of the Empropaz project through training and mentorship in digitial skills and digital marketing to support the development and stranthening of their entrepreneurships.

María Elizabeth shares that, thanks to the training she has received, she boosted her business idea and went from selling “pan de yuca” on the streets to having a fast food place. "I can use technology tools to move my business forward." shares María Elizabeth. Digital Impulse helped María Elizabeth design her logo and create her product catalog. Further, she is in the process of opening her business account on social networks.
